Los Filos Bermejal is a 24 million-tonne-per-year heap leach operation originally designed by KCA. Since the initial build, KCA has been engaged on seven expansion projects — ultimately tripling the ADR plant's capacity to nearly 8,000 m³/h.
KCA provided metallurgical flowsheet development, the process sections of a bankable feasibility study, and detailed engineering, procurement, and construction management services for the ADR plant. Across the subsequent seven expansions, KCA has continuously expanded the solution flow capacity in the CIC circuit and the pumping capacity in the existing and new heap leach areas — a long-running technical partnership that has tracked the operation across two ownership changes.
